Foxit has released Foxit Reader 2.3 .
Foxit Reader 2.3 has a new multimedia player feature.
- Read multimedia ebooks
- Watch Videos and listen to audios that are in the PDF
I can now use left and right click functionality for navigating in full screen mode and the preference “Show Status Bar” now works with my Vista and my Windows XP operating systems with Foxit Reader 2.3.
There are many other new and enhanced features and bug fixes in the new Foxit Reader 2.3 release.

Foxit came out with an updated free PDF reader recently, so I thought I would give it a try. I am quite impressed with the ease of use and the options available. Foxit Reader 2.2 is available for several operating systems such as Windows, Windows Mobile, Linux and U3. Foxit Reader 2.2 takes up less space on my hard drive and uses less processing power. It starts fast and has more usable options than my previous PDF reader. It doesn’t try to connect to the internet every time I open it. I especially like that feature (or should I say non-feature)… I find the commentating tools useful. Especially the highlighting and notes tool. I can easily switch back and forth between the tools and reading mode using the toolbar icons. To change non-clickable links in the PDF to clickable links in Foxit Reader 2.2, you will need to edit the preferences in Foxit Reader 2.2. To do this
- Click on Edit
- Click on Preferences
- Click on the General Tab
- Check the “Create links from URLs” checkbox
- Click OK
To see what page you are on in the PDF you will need to activate the status bar
- Click on View in the Menu Bar
- Select Status Bar
The Status Bar will then appear at the bottom of your PDF.
Update: The left and right click functionality for navigation in full screen mode is now available in Foxit Reader 2.3. The preference “Show Status Bar” now works with my Vista and my Windows XP operating systems with Foxit Reader 2.3.
Unlike my previous PDF Reader, when in Full Screen mode, left clicking on the page doesn’t advance the document to the next page. To navigate in Full Screen mode there are several options. I can navigate the pages with the Hand tool or use the scroll wheel on my mouse, as in the default view. I am unable to get the preference “Show Status bar” in the preference window on the Full Screen tab to work on my Vista operating system. It may be a problem with Vista. I will have to look into it with Foxit Reader support. All other options in Full Screen Preferences work fine. There are other settings and preferences you can change to your liking in the preferences window also. Foxit Reader is my choice for a multi featured PDF reader.

Mark Joyner’s company over at Simpleology has created a course on Blogging. They are giving away the course to anyone who blogs about it.
I’m evaluating the multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.
It covers:
- The best blogging techniques.
- How to get traffic to your blog.
- How to turn your blog into money.
I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.
